Unmarked....

At the graveyards edge
by the woods...
i found this sculpture...
no tombstone....
the grave
was lined in bricks
with flowers growing.....
it was wide ..
like 2 people
maybe 3
lay sleeping......
no names
no dates...
just a statue
of a barefoot man
holding a bird..
the look
on his face
bid me to go.
i did not feel welcome.
his eyes
seemed to say
the bones
benieth him
was sacred.
